By Mustapha Malabu/Yola/ There is no doubt that the Gubernatorial election in Adamawa has generated global attention second only to the 2023 Presidential election especially because of the alleged attempt by INEC to subvert popular will of the people and install an unpopular and a divisive character as Governor.
However, the ruling party in the state as well as residents of the state were collectively vigilants, leading to aborted rigging plots.
The Federation of Adamawa Youths Organizations in a statement noted that there has been clandestine movement of officials of the Commission, leaving behind the REC, Hudu Yunusa Ari was caught on tape to have played a nefarious role in undercounting the votes of the incumbent Governor which has led to the re-run election on April 15.
The youths group added that “we wish to put the Adamawa REC, Hudu Yunusa Ari on notice that we have alerted the world about his role. Adamawa Youths have been mobilized and organized to ensure that no space is allowed in the re-run election for manipulations. We shall defend every vote and the integrity of the process. Any attempt to rig for Binani shall be catastrophic.The INEC Chairman and the Adamawa REC shall bear the consequences of any counter reaction that may follow”.
The organisation further stated that “We have been patient because of the persuasion of Governor Fintiri. We shall not allow any move by INEC and Senator Binani to set the State backwards”.
